I am sorry for not posting this past week. We moved to a rental house a week ago in the ‘burbs and we have been adjusting well. My family came from El Paso and it was awesome to see them once again. I’ll post a tour-of-the-house soon!
So now for my book update of the Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up.
First off, this book could not be any more straight-forward in its guidance to living a happier and clutter-free life (my fave). I’ve learned quite a lot already, and I’m only on page 70!
Marie Kondo does well in clarifying why storage is just covering the internal issue with a band aid. She wants you to feel gratitude for your clothes and your living space, not surround yourself with items you don’t even know existed in the back of your closet.
For those who are reading along with me, I LOVE the part about actually buying elegant nightwear to look like a lady! It’s true, I’ve resorted to keeping all of my “old clothing” and turning it into lounge clothing, which is incorrect. In other words, wouldn’t you want to wear items in the house that give you a spark of joy and make you feel like you’re well-dressed just the way you prepare when you go out of the house? Think about it.
Let’s keep reading before September is over!
