Happy Throwback Thursday, y’all!
Did you know that you could find various online budgeting tools that are FREE?? Some of these are quite popular, so you may have heard of them, but I am posting them on here so that you know that they work; hopefully this post inspires you to begin, or to continue to use them (if you stopped using it at some point and have fallen-off track with budgeting) in order to kick debt in the nuts!
This one is my favorite one and is the one I currently use. I was not a big fan of keeping things online, but I am loving that I can look up how much I have left in my account on my phone. Advantage: Its simplicity is attractive and understated. It doesn’t have any extra, fluffy things you don’t need. Disadvantage: You first have to sync all of your information at the start of each month on a computer since income and events will be different. This may throw some people off since they naturally would like to update from their phone rather than a computer.
I love that this is also an app, so it makes looking at your budget a breeze! Advantage: Having all of your bank account information in view, alongside your budget template. Disadvantage: I used this app when I used to use a debit card 24/7; now I have a system for cash-only (with the exception of online bills or budgeted online purchases), so the app syncs to when you use your debit card pretty easily. This would work well for those of you who use a debit-card only, not for those consistently using cash for purchases.
I have not personally tried this one, but I’ve done plenty of research on it. If you want something very basic, this tool provides a free budget template online. You can’t do much on it, but that is probably why they also tempt you to try their premium version. Advantage: It is easy to understand and does the job when you need it to. Disadvantage: it does not come with bank account linking or a mobile app unless you purchase the premium ($4.99 a month).
Which one would you try to begin your journey to financial freedom?
