Well, we passed that point a while ago but that’s me wishing I could stop time. :p
So far, I haven’t had any fun money and I’ve been okay with that! I received a wonderful gift for Valentine’s Day from my husband, plus, we were given a gift card to go out on a date, so we have been okay!
The area we have both struggled in: entertainment.
This category originally had $200 in it and now we are nearing the end!
The groceries have been fine (we include groceries and household supplies in this category which is why it is larger), and then we went over our clothing budget…my husband underestimated how much it would be for his brother’s wedding suit next month so when we paid at the cashier’s we looked at each other, a bit shocked. That is why this area is red. My husband still has his fun money in the category. The other downfall we had is Sue, our dog, recently got sick and had to be taken in to the vet. He needed some medication but he is fine now. Well, that wasn’t in the budget either…
Moral of the story: life happens. You are trying your best with what you can control. I am using the Every Dollar app and I love it. I haven’t totally figured it out yet, but we will get there.
Are you keeping tabs on your budget this month? What are you doing to help limit yourself and remain happy?
