*This is for anyone whom thinks they are unloved or whom have a difficult time looking past people*
Jason and I became engaged in January of 2013, then later wed December of 2013. What a whirlwind of a year that was!
I could not stop looking at my beautiful diamond ring and how amazingly huge it looked on my small hands. It wasn’t until that spring, that Jason overtook some conversations when people asked him, “Wow! Where did you get your ring?” The crowd wasn’t asking about MY ring. They were asking about HIS ring. We were constantly asked if we had secretly eloped (although that would’ve been a much less expensive option!), and we told them no.
Jason surprised me one afternoon early 2013 when a small package came for him in the mail. He had ordered a wedding band with my fingerprint engraved on the inside. I know, I know, let’s try to skip through the mushy stuff. He said he wanted the world to know that we were engaged, and that I shouldn’t be the only one to be known as the betrothed one. Although it made my heart the happiest and sappiest it’s ever been, Jason also was paralleling something for the rest of my life.
When I gave my heart to God, I was given a giant, shiny rock, also. God handed me over a precious gift embedding our eternal relationship full of love, forgiveness, and compassion. He marked me and asked me to be His, to be His betrothed. I married the church, His laws, His perspectives, and everything that comes in the Word. See, God is not ashamed to show you off. You are perfection in His eyes! He values you and gives you spiritual blessings and a nice, diamond ring to go along with it for the rest of your life.
Girl, don’t let a man drive your heart away from God. You’re taken. You’re His. A man whom tells you otherwise and does not value you the way God does should not be in the beautiful life God is creating for you. If you find a man whom treats you like the daughter of the King and a true princess, then awesome possum. But do not focus on trying to find love, to get a giant ring. You’re already betrothed to the greatest King. And you are the Princess.
