September of this year marked my first anniversary with essential oils. So many people have been using them for years, as well as so many people discovering them just recently. Let’s face it, essential oils are not just a trend!
Tried and true, essential oils have “medicinal properties” (think OTC meds, not for serious medical cures) that are potent, effective, and come in a teeny-tiny bottle for somewhat of a pricy tag. But I’ve realized that although they may be pricy in their initial cost, the tiny drops last a really long time. It may compare to some of my allergy meds I’m always after (screw you, Texas trees! But you’re oh-so beautiful still…).
The three main ways to use essential oils are: topical, diffusing, and drinking/ingesting. I don’t want to write a “what are EOs” post because there are hundreds of them out there, so I’ll just entice you to try one “recipe” with me.
One of my good friends, Emily, has given me her link to purchase from here.
Candles are very popular to scent your entire house with, but not all of them are natural. A safer and beautifully-smelling alternative is using these powerful bottles and making your own concoctions within a diffuser.
She advised me to try Holiday Joy and Peppermint, 2 drops of each into a diffuser filled with water to the water line. The house was officially fall-smelling. I am telling you, it’s refreshing to try these oils! They’re good for you, they’re natural, and you can place the diffuser in all of the rooms a little at a time if you have to. Bad odors will go away, and you will definitely be hooked. Holiday Joy is limited edition, so make sure to grab yours fast! Doterra is also having BOGO daily deal this week, make sure to check it out!
What recipes have y’all come up with? I’d love to hear of some more holiday blends!
