Okay, so has anybody ever swooned over a tree slice table?? Like this one:
or this one…
I mean, sure, if you have 500 bucks to shell out just to up your interior decor game, go right ahead!
We decided to DIY this after finding this slice at a local antique store.
I don’t’ have the “eye” when I walk in a room and immediately envision something entirely different from its original purpose. I have practiced that “eye”, and I’ve been learning quite a few things. But you’ve gotta just keep doing projects head on in order to find out what your decor eye looks like and such. I really had been wanting one of those expensive tree slice tables I see everywhere; bringing the outside indoors was something I wanted to decorate with, and I wanted to make sure that it was in small doses because I am not a rustic-decor-lover.
I went into the store and literally saw the slice on top of the base. I screamed, “my dream table! Almost put together!” Luckily, it was extremely reasonably-priced (I’m talkin’ less than $100 for a West-Elm catalog show-stopper), so we were able to snag it as is.
We incorporated our office’s white and gold theme with some gold speckled spray paint for the base. My husband also sanded the top and stained it.
I hope to see more of your tree slice tables! I loved that this one in particular is super old and local to our historic neighborhood!
xoxo,
B
